Teddy’s Cafe

I was super stoked to get some breakfast after going to Good Day LA as a field trip for my Broadcast News I class. My professor, Pete, suggested Teddy’s and I was definitely not disappointed.

Restaurant: Teddy’s Cafe

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Hours: 5:30am-10pm

Overall rating: 4/5

What I ordered: Belgian waffle combo with eggs and bacon

Good food, good service, good prices, good company. If you’re on a budget looking for some classic breakfast in the LA area, Teddy’s is your place. But make sure you bring cash. They are a cash-only restaurant (although they do have an ATM machine inside the restaurant).

The restaurant is pretty small, indoors only but has a really nice old-fashioned feel. Their stained glass lamps paired with the natural lighting give the whole place a nice warm hug. Since we were a big party, they moved together three wooden oval tables for us so we could all sit together.

Menu has both breakfast and lunch classics. Also, I was super surprised to find out they’re open until 10pm!

Coffee was definitely a plus – rich, aromatic and not much of an aftertaste. Plus, service was great on refilling my cup.

Yuuuuum. Belgian waffle combo. Waffle had a pretty average flavor, texture was good, but could have been cooked slightly longer so that it was still crunchy after dousing it in syrup. Eggs were good, but the bacon — that bacon was tasty. Cooked perfectly, on the crispy side and they gave me four slices! Can’t beat it.

And my bill was about $10! Can’t complain and I will definitely stop by if I find myself in the LA area.
